އާ އަހަރުގެ ފުރަތަމަ ދުވަހާ އެކީ ރާއްޖެ އަށް އައި އެންމެ ފުރަތަމަ ޓޫރިސްޓްގެ މަގާމު ރަޝިއާގެ މީހަކަށް ލިބިއްޖެ އެވެ.
މި އަހަރުގެ ފުރަތަމަ ޓޫރިސްޓަށް މަރުހަބާ ކިޔަން އެމްއެމްޕީއާރްސީ އާއި ވެލާނާ އިންޓަނޭޝަނަލް އެއާޕޯޓުން ހާއްސަ ހަރަކާތެއް ވެސް ބޭއްވި އެވެ. އެގޮތުން މި އަހަރުގެ ފުރަތަމަ ޓޫރިސްޓް ނިކޮލާއީ ސްޓްރަޓީޗޫކް އަށް ހާއްސަ ހަދިޔާއެއް ވެސް ދީފައިވެ އެވެ. އޭނަ އިއްތިހާދު އެއާވޭސްގައި އަންހެނުންނ ާއި ދަރިފުޅާ އެކީ ރާއްޖެ އައީ ހެނދުނު 6:05 ގަ އެވެ.

ރާއްޖޭން މި އަހަރު ކަނޑައަޅާފައިވާ އަމާޒަކި އަހަރު ނިމުމުގެ ކުރިން މަދުވެގެން 1.8 މިލިއަން ޓޫރިސްޓުން ގެނައުމެވެ. ރާއްޖޭގެ ޓޫރިޒަމަށް 50 އަހަރު ފުރުނު މިދިޔަ އަހަރުގެ ޓާގެޓަކީ 1.6 މިލިއަން ޓޫރިސްޓުންނެވެ. އެ ޓާގެޓް ހާސިލުވީ މިދިޔަ މަހުގެ 20 ގަ އެވެ.
ރާއްޖެ އަށް އެންމެ ގިނައިން ޓޫރިސްޓުން އަންނަ 10 ގައުމަކީ އިންޑިއާ، ރަޝިއާ، ޔޫކޭ، ޖަރުމަން، އިޓަލީ، އެމެރިކާ، ފްރާންސް، ސްޕެއިން، ދެކުނު ކޮރެއާގެ އިތުރުން ސްވިޓްޒަލޭންޑެވެ.
